Monday isn’t the most popular day but when your off work it isn’t too bad! The other week I had been away to Frankfurt for the weekend with my job so had the Monday off & I loved it, how I wish I could have every Monday off but hey a girl can dream. I spent my day getting ready for the re-launch of Abigail Alice & hanging out with one of my best friends. After enjoying a catch up over some coffee in the WOW bar in Beauty Bazaar we headed over to the other side of Liverpool City Centre to the Walker Art Gallery.
When ever I think of MAC I not only think of their products but their artistic flair & creativity that they produce with each new collection, they know no boundaries. Their latest collection MAC is beauty was the perfect collection for me, girly, sixties inspired with bug hair & pastel colours I couldn’t wait to try it out. So when I go invited to the MAC is beauty very own salon in Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.
I’m a girly girl so do love a pamper session but who doesn’t but realistically when do we have time to really pamper ourselves? For me I love on a Sunday night, lighting a candle, prepping my skin putting on a face mask, oils in the bath & having some down time. This is great for me to do once a week but leading up to Summer with a Wedding to prep for (not my own of course but I was a bridesmaid) & beach holidays, I made more of a conscious effort to buff, scrub & moisturise regularly & properly.
I’m not going to lie I love Birthday’s, whether it’s my own or someone else’s. It’s everything from deciding on the gift, I’m a stationer geek so even down to the card, wrapping it up. The day itself I want to know the plans, is it a celebratory Brunch, will we do something different maybe a theme park, the Zoo or getting dressed up & heading out for cocktails & dinner, have I got carried away? Sorry, but you can get the idea now can’t you. So this year when it came to my own birthday I hadn’t really made any plans, your shocked I know. My girlfriends & I had been out the week before for a big night out & that had totally distracted me however I was the lucky girl when my boyfriend surprised me & took me away for the weekend to Bath.
Being from Liverpool the Grand National (horse racing event) is pretty big in the city. I remember from a really young age my Mum & Dad going with a group of their closest friends, all dressed up & making a lovely day of it. As I got older & became more aware of what the event was I noticed that even if I wasn’t going or it was the National Day itself then that’s reason enough to get together with friends & family to enjoy it. I first went when I was 17 & was so excited to finally be going to the Races, looking back I must have looked like a baby but I felt so grown up. Part of going to the Races is picking your outfit & trust me it is no easy job to do, ladies really pull out all the stops.
The world of Social Media can be a crazy place sometimes but we all love it, can you think where we would be without our daily Instagram inspiration feed, sad I know but Instagram is my favourite app! An it just shows you the power of it when through a picture I uploaded of my latest Mulberry purchase, some brogues (what can I say I have a weakness for Mulberry) I received an email from author Jo Piazza inviting me to the launch of her new book, Tech Bitch to be held at the Mulberry store, New Bond St.
