I can say that Autumn is potentially may favourite Season.
It’s not yet too cold, there is a crisp freshness when your outside so you now need the extra layers & you get pink flushed cheeks. Pumpkin icing is taking place, dark nights are setting in, extra candles are being lit & there is that cosy feeling in the air & I’m going to say it, Christmas is starting to make seep in but I’m trying not to notice it just yet so I don’t get carried away. But one of the main reasons I love Autumn is for the Autumn/Winter wardrobe, the array of colours on an Autumn pallet are colours I am naturally drawn too, plums, forest green, mustards with a mix of dusky browns.
With a chill in the air the past few weeks I have started layering up, for me it’s an ideal solution instead of wearing one large coat. Wearing a Winter cost can sometimes make me feel too warm & I find layers is more flattering as well as a perfect solution for getting the most out of some of the pieces in my wardrobe.
This skirt I picked up earlier in the year but didn’t really get a chance to wear it much but knew it was a piece that I could bring out evert Autumn/Winter. I love the style it’s feminine, a fun shape that is also flattering, for this time of year the longer skirts are my go to, teamed with suede boots I have a feeling it will become a Winter staple outfit for me.
When it comes to knitwear Gap is my go to & has been since I worked there when I was 16, their merino wool jumpers are my favourite. The right level of thickness that I can wear under a cardigan or coat & not feel like I am bumbled up too much. This colour instantly caught my eye for Autumn & worked really well with the skirt, I love the combination of plum colours. Adding a splash of colour with my green glitter knitted cardigan from my recent trip to Madrid broke up the berry tones & is the perfect solution if you don’t want to wear a coat just yet but still feel cosy this Autumn.
