If you follow me on Instagram then you will have seen that last week I spent a long weekend in Edinburgh with Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Thanks to the new Flybe route we hopped on a plane & within 45 minutes touched down in Edinburgh, definitely making it a quicker & faster to travel. I have had Edinburgh on my list of places to visit for some time so the weeks leading up to the trip I was purposely on the lookout for places to visit whilst I was there.
One place in particular that seemed to be making a number of appearances was Circle Lane which is home to the prettiest Mews in Edinburgh. The lane is in the historic New Town sandwiched ideally between the large Georgian town houses and the ‘village’ of Stockbridge. On Sunday morning we were up & out as we made our way to Stockbridge Market & to my delight discovered that Circle Lane was literally the lane right before it & it was everything it is in the pictures & more.
Making my way down the beautifully cobbled lane I was conscious that it was a Sunday morning & the neighbours might not appreciate me making noise as I gazed dreamily at their colourful homes decorated with blooming flowers. I actually did think maybe its an unspoken rule that if you live in the Mews you have to have green fingers, the flowers are beautiful.
Over the weekend I quickly realised the weather was very unpredictable from extremely heavy rain for 30 minutes to clear skies moments later so packing for this trip was a challenge & I ended up taking a fair bit of my Winter wardrobe, wearing a floral dress would have definitely made me stand out.
Whenever I go on a weekend trip I always take a leather jacket, it is the perfect item as it can be worn day or night casual or smart. Teamed with what is becoming a staple style in my wardrobe, this dress is so simple but I love teaming it with ankle boots or a simple heel. For this trip I wore some comfortable green ankle boots that brought out the colours in the dress, perfect for walking the cobbled streets & heading to the market. AA x
