I love a good ‘To Do’ list & since my boyfriend got me a new diary for Christmas I have been adding some new reminders to my list, from hotels to look up, restaurants to try & one of them has been ‘OhMeOhMy,’ Liverpool’s very own secret space. I have followed them on Instagram for a while & noticed the secret events that they do, which they only advertise a few days before so you have to be quick.
They have a mix of ‘Secret Afternoon Tea’ which I next on my list, to their next Secret Session ‘A Night At The Movies’ showing Oscar-winning film The Artist, so you can see you are spoilt for choice of what to pick from but last week I managed to tick off visiting ‘OhMeOhMy’ as my boyfriend & I popped along for their Sunday Brunch.
Sunday mornings tend to be our lazy morning enjoying a sleep-in, cup of tea whilst we read the papers or binge-watch the latest box set. Or sometimes we want to get up & out to enjoy some brunch so I was excited to finally head to ‘OhMeOhMy’ to try out their Brunch menu. Located in the centre of Liverpool it’s in a prime spot, whilst you are in the city centre you’re still away from the hustle & bustle.
Stepping into what was previously an old bank located opposite the Three Graces, building you can’t help but tilt your head back & look up, with the high decorative ceilings it is definitely a beautiful space & pretty perfect for any occasion. Hence the title ‘secret space’ the open room with high ceilings is the perfect spot for you to attend for any occasion, I know people who have hosted their wedding, been along for a ‘Secret Session’ or like me for a spot of brunch.
Settling in with a hot pot of English Breakfast Tea that had the cutest quote on the side, we were delivered a breakfast platter to share which looked pretty mouth-watering with a selection of fresh watermelon, strawberries, an espresso cup filled with yoghurt, berries & granola which I loved & just wished it came in a bigger bowl but it was a good job as this was just the first course. After enjoying the fresh fruit & yoghurt I dived straight into the mini pastries that were so tasty & the perfect treat on a Sunday morning, whilst my boyfriend tucked into the European style with cheese & ham.
With the first course out the way, we sat back & listened to the soft sounds of the live music that was perfect easy listening on a Sunday morning. Before we knew it the second final course arrived & having the sweet tooth I do well there was only one option for me it had to be the American style pancakes with crispy bacon & plenty of maple syrup & boy were they good! So thick & fluffy exactly what you want from an American style pancake, with extra maple syrup I was quick to polish them up my boyfriend didn’t stand a look in but he was perfectly happy digging into his Full English. With thick buttered toast, tasty sizzling sausages he was very content to be left whilst he cleared the plate. So with two clear plates & very very full bellies it’s safe to say Brunch was definitely a hit. There was a mix of people there & it’s definitely somewhere I plan to head back to with my girlfriends, I know they’d love it as much as we did! AA x
