The Trench Coat

Oh, how I am itching for Spring & with the glorious one day of sunshine that we had on Saturday it got me so excited but this can be the slightly tricky part when it comes to deciding what to wear. When we recently had some sunshine it is so tempting to pick out the most colourful springesque items from my wardrobe but realistically it’s not that warm, so keep the sandals in their boxes & don’t put away your coats just yet.

If you’re like me then you will have spent the past few months living in your Winter overcoat, I don’t thnk I’ve ever had so much wear out of them before but with the chill still in the air, I couldn’t help but repeatedly pick out my coats when heading out the door. But the other week I picked up a new coat that was perfect for this in-between weather that we are having, it’s not freezing, the sun may pop out but you still need that extra layer so the classic trench coat is what you need to have in your wardrobe, it’s perfect.

Trench coats never date, some season’s they will be more popular than other seasons but overall you can never go wrong with one. I have had one or two over the years but honestly, I can find them tricky to find the right fit & how to wear one but then I found this one in Warehouse & it just worked.

It’s light that I can wear a jumper underneath it if it’s still slightly chilly, or the other week & the sun was out but you still need a coat it’s perfect to add to an outfit. It’s understated so it’s never really the focus of an outfit & that’s what I like. Teaming with one of my favourite dresses from Warehouse new collection this floral wrap over dress has winner all over it. I loved wearing it out to lunch, it’s quite long but with the deep v on the chest & belt that defines your waist, I loved the shape it gave me, adding my trench coat I was ready to go. AA x
