Catch Up

Team GB In RIO 2016…

It’s been 1 week since the opening of the 2016 Olympics in Rio & after being away for the start of the ceremony I can officially say the Olympics bug has hit our home, we are all caught up in it cheering at the TV for team GB!

I remember the London 2012 Olympics & how the country got behind all sports not just the most popular events as Athletics & Swimming. Now we are all watching the rowing, cycling in the velodrome, trampolining & so many more, no matter what the sport is it’s fantastic to see the country brought together to cheer each other on.

There has been so much coverage of the Olympics, one article I enjoyed reading this week was with British designer Stella McCartney who again has designed the kits for Team GB & the hurdles she had to jump over to get the official seal of approval.

Must See

12 New Documentaries To Watch…

Okay so I think that I have already established that I love watching films but the last year I have started watching more documentaries, mainly because there are so many ready & available to watch on Netflix.

There is always a mixed bag of documentaries that are available so when I came across this link of ’12 New Documentaries To Watch This Autumn’ I book marked it knowing this will come in handy on those weekends when you want to sit back relax.

On this list there are 2 that really stood out to me & one was ‘Gleason’ which follows the life of former NFL star Steve Gleason who at the age of 34, was diagnosed with ALS & given a life expectancy of two to five years. Weeks later, Gleason found out his wife, Michel, was expecting their first child. It’s a heart warming, tug at the heart strings documentary that will really make you appreciate life.

15 A/W Pieces To Invest In…

We are now seeing the last of the sales in stores & online, is it just me or does it feel like they have been on forever? I always find the Summer sales great for any holiday pieces, I’m off to Greece in September so ideal to pick up any last minute pieces but really I”m already looking ahead to A/W.

I love a A/W wardrobe more than a Summer simply because we have the weather to dress for it but it also allows you to layer up. I always think every A/W it key to invest in a few pieces that will be great additions to your wardrobe that you can bring out every year & they never get old. It’s great sticking to classic pieces but I don’t mind experimenting with some trends that fall in line with my style & if there not over priced.

Here are some great key pieces that are mainly from the High Street that I would definitely be looking at for this year!

I Want

In My Wardrobe…

We all have certain colours that we are drawn to & for me red is one of them. I think it’s that ideal colour that can be worn in Summer or Winter & whether your blonde, brunette or a red head.

I have a number of red pieces in my wardrobe but stopped when I came across this 60’s style blouse from French Connection.

I would definitely say it more an A/W piece you could wear it with flared jeans & wedges in September when the nights are still light to achieve a 60’s look, wearing your hair loose or in a top knot. Or it your feeling a bit more adventurous you could team with a floaty/pleated skirt in a print that would make a bold outfit but teamed with the right print it could work. AA x
