Catch Up

7 Productive Apps…

I like to think I’m quite organised I love making to-do lists, maybe it’s so I can buy a pretty notebook & pen to jot it all down on but I still feel satisfied going through my list & tinkling off everything that I have managed to do.

With going on holiday & wanting to actually be ‘out of office’ from my full time job & the blog I really had to step it up the last week or so to help me get through it all.

With some long nights & a strong coffee in the morning I managed to do this but every little helps & thankfully I came across this post that introduced me to some planning life savours.

Since reading this post I swiftly downloaded Planoly, which helps you plan & schedule your posts, reply to your comments & analyse your starts (but after a trial this comes at a price!) Secondly was Todoist, save me carrying my notebook around, you can set reminders for email, have categories for specific fields & of course a to do list.

Must See

La La Land…

One of my all time favourite films is ‘You’ve Got Mail’ starring Hollywood A-list Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan, not only do I love the story but they are one of the onscreen golden couples that are destined to work together time & time again. It’s happening with Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Laurence who already have worked on 4 films together & no doubt have more to come.

One of my favourite on screen couples Emma Stone & Ryan Gosling have just premiered their new film ‘La La Land’ at Venice Film Festival & it has received rave reviews, being dubbed for the Oscar’s already.

It tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress  & Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying them. With modern day Los Angeles as the backdrop, this musical about everyday life explores what is more important: a once-in-a-lifetime love or the spotlight.

Just In

NYFW In The Know…

September is underway & before we know it for all you fashion bunnies out there you will have a big fat red circle around the date for the start of New York Fashion Week. The September shows in New York are the ones I would love to attend. New York is coming out of its humid Summer & everyone is still enjoying the last few days whilst modelling the SS17 collection.

Fashion Week always kicks off stateside with the stylish celebrities & industry insiders in tow descent on the Big Apple. In New York we will get to see shows from the likes of Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham & Alexander Wang but ahead of this season there has been a lot of changes leaving everyone waiting to see what’s in store. There will also be a lot of new designers on the block trying to catch the eye of the fashion insiders, new venues & new faces on the runway. Plenty of reasons why I would want to go & you can get in the know with the perfect cheat sheet from Vogue!

I Want

In My Wardrobe…

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a skirt that I knew was ideal for the last of the Summer & would see me right through into the Winter months. You may have seen that the transition collections have been hitting stores taking you away from the Summer collection & into Autumn/Winter & I have noticed that floral embroidery is big for this Winter!

You may have seen my outfit post ‘Secret Garden’ here with the particular skirt I am talking about, isn’t it so pretty! Well since then my eyes have been catching similar pieces & a favourite I have my eyes on is this skirt from River Island that is a perfect piece to pick up for your wardrobe.

I was lucky to catch some warm weather to wear my skirt in but know that in a few more weeks tights will be coming out & suede knee high boots as I team this with a chunky knitted jumper. It’s the ideal on trend outfit with all the Autumn colours you can wrap up in your jumper. AA x
