Ultimate America Roadtrip..
The past two years I have been pretty lucky with the number of trips/holidays that I have been on, I have had a mix of city breaks in the UK & Europe, with some holidays further a field. But next year the plan is to visit America & I honestly cannot wait. There are so many places I want to go to in the States I think I could easily travel the county for a year & I doubt I would see it all.
From Chicago the windy city, to the vineyards in Napa Valley, heading down south to Nashville & Austin I could go on. There are so many key places to visit so when I came across this list of the ’11 places to visit on the ultimate American road trip I definitely felt it was calling out to me.
I think the sheer size of America is something I can’t quite get my head around & it wouldn’t be until your on the open road driving to your next destination that you realise & probably only then get to experience it’s true beauty. There is so much to see across the 52 states it would definitely be the ultimate road trip.
A Fashion Education…
Fashion documentaries seem to becoming increasingly more popular & there are certain ones that I am drawn to. If you haven’t watched one before they can really open up your eyes to what goes on behind the scenes & how its not always how it may appear.
I love the film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ & how this is said to be based on Vogue US editor Anna Wintour. We were able to get a sense of what goes on behind the doors at Vogue in the fashion documentary The September Issue & currently in the UK the BBC2, 2 part documentary Absolutely Fashion.
One of my all time favourites that completely took me by surprised & left me with a feeling that I can’t explain after I watches it was, Dior & I. I always thought I had some understanding of what goes on but as you go behind the doors to Dior’s haute couture house you can’t help but fall in love with this world of craftsmanship, talent & sheer passion for what they do. Vogue have pulled together the ultimate list of documentaries that will educate you on the real world of fashion.
H&M & Kenzo…
Since the announcement was made there has been very little released about what we should expect from the collection, everything has been kept closely under wraps but yesterday images were released giving us an insight as what will be hitting stores. The first bit of news we heard was that iconic photographer Jean-Paul Goude has shot the campaign for the collection, starring seven diverse celebrities & figureheads.
From the pieces that have been released it is no surprise to see from Kenzo’s creators Carol Lim & Humberto Leon that they have continued their well known bold prints & brightly coloured (signature elements of the label that they helm) collection for the high-street brand, there is definitely a dress in there that I have my eye on.
In My Wardrobe…
This my be called ‘I Want’ but I cheated & actually picked up this top last weekend & am planning on wearing it to dinner tonight with my girlfriends but I love it that much that I wanted to share with you.
So I blogged a while a go a similar ‘I Want’ as pyjama shirts are popping up everywhere at the moment, I don’t currently have one in my wardrobe but last Sunday I added two to my wardrobe & one was this shirt from Topshop. I picked it up as I love the colour & the print, it’s the perfect Autumn/Winter piece. It can be tucked into a pair of jeans or I’m even thinking a long pleated skirt with the sleeves rolled up & a clutch bag.
But the best bit, this shirt is actually in the pyjama section & according to the Topshop Personal Shopper had nearly sold out as people were picking it up to wear as a shirt, you would never know the difference! AA x
