Catch Up

The Tale Of Thomas Burberry..

It seem’s like there are Christmas adverts/ films coming out of every crack at the moment & the latest is from Burberry, who have released a cinematic trailer for its holiday campaign – a three-minute film that reimagines key events in its history & leaves us wanting more.

The Tale of Thomas Burberry, as it’s called, taps into the heritage of the brand and its founder, nodding towards the technical capability of the gabardine fabric he develops as well as a fictional love story underpinning the building of his company.

The film sees Domhnall Gleeson playing Burberry, with Sienna Miller as his fictional first love. There’s also Dominic West playing Sir Ernest Shackleton, the pioneering polar explorer who wore Burberry gabardine for three Antarctic expeditions. Gorgeous Lily James as pilot Betty Dawson, a fictionalised character inspired by the real life achievements of Betty Kirby-Green, who broke the world record in 1937 for a return flight from England to Cape Town in an airplane named “The Burberry”, dressed in Burberry.

Must See

The Crown…

Okay so if your like me then you will be severely disappointed when the ITV historical period drama Victoria came to an end, but don’t panic a 2nd series has been confirmed. Feeling slightly at a loss with no Sunday night drama to watch I was slightly happy when I realised it was finally time for Netflix’s big $130 million budget show The Crown was finally being released.

So if you did spent all weekend binge-watching  The Crown, then you probably understand what all the hype is about. Scandals, feuds, forbidden romance, political power plays—it’s a decadent recipe that fans of the Royal family will eat right up.

The ten-episode series following Queen Elizabeth II’s ascension to the throne is among the most extravagant & expensive ever made, as I mentioned it’s already boasting an astronomical price tag of $130 million & once you watch it, it’s obvious why there has been so much buzz about its sky-high budget & where exactly it all went. If you haven’t yet watched it then what are you waiting for, plus it must be a winner as the cast has already confirmed they are filming the 2nd series.

Just In

John Lewis Christmas Advert…

Okay so I LOVE Christmas it’s my favourite holiday & time of the year, I am already started to get excited but I am trying to hold back as it happens every year & I get the Christmas buzz too early. But now I feel I have the right to be excited, buying in scented candles, present piling up, counting down until the tree can go up as the John Lewis Christmas Advert officially dropped yesterday.

What has steadily become a nations highlight in the lead up to Christmas it is now in some way seen as the official start of Christmas. Some years I have loved the advert & others not as much it is everything about the advert including what quickly become the iconic song, with the like of Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen & Tom Odell performed previous years.

The new two-minute clip Buster The Boxer, estimated to have cost about £7m, tells the story of a little girl called Bridget & five-year-old Biff as Buster her dog, you get to see woodland creatures have a ball on a trampoline, it is a mixed bag & I have mixed feeling. It’s not my favourite but John Lewis can never really go too wrong can they.

I Want

In My Wardrobe…

Velvet  is HUGE this season it is everywhere from chokers, boots, blazers & dresses. I never really used to be a big fan of velvet as the tough of it used to go through me but a few years ago I picked up a velvet dress & I loved it, from the colour, style & fit it had it all & now it’s had a bit comeback.

When it comes to velvet dresses I personally think it’s all down to the style, if it’s not right it can be heavy fitting & not really that flattering that’s why I particularly love this dress from & Other Stories. Where now going into Winter so yes it’s chilly & on a night out you don’t want to be shivering so I love how it’s long sleeved but with the routed waist it’s going to really give you a waist line.

But really for me this dress is all about the colours, they have managed to get the balance perfect from the black background & touches of multi colour, making it perfect to have in your wardrobe this party season! AA x
