Catch Up

Women’s March…

Last weekend yes Trump became the next President of the United States but his first day in office has been overshadowed by a very strong, powerful beautiful movement that took place across the world.

Over two million women, men & children in more than 20 countries came together to march in protest of the new US President & for many there were plenty of other reasons, their own reasons why they took part in the march.

The global events have drawn inspiration from the Women’s March on Washington, the main rally which seen hundreds of thousands walk to the National Mall. From Sydney to Helsinki, New York to London.

Across the globe sisters from all different walks of life, religion, colour, stood shoulder to shoulder in what was such a powerful message. While the thousands in attendance had a number of different reasons why they were marching they all had one thing in common: some great signage, they were definitely making sure that their message was loud & clear!

Must See

Stylish Weekend Retreats…

Just to give you a bit of a warning/ heads up, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner & some of you may fancy taking a weekend break. Even if you’re not looking for Valentine’s it’s always nice to escape for a few days to switch off & recharge the batteries, I’m always looking at hotels, cottages across the country just to get away. I’ve found that there are so many places on my own doorstep that I didn’t even know about, I only have to pop in the car for a few hours drive & who doesn’t love a good road trip.

I’ve found that there are so many places on my own doorstep that I didn’t even know about, I only have to pop in the car for a few hours drive & who doesn’t love a good road trip.

Just In

Oscar Nominations 2017…

As I have mentioned numerous times I love the cinema & now that I have my Odeon limitless card (cinema geek I know) I am making my way through watching all of the talked about films ahead of the Oscars just so I can have my own opinion of if they are winner worthy.

At the weekend my girlfriends & I watched LaLa Land & honestly I don’t understand what all the fuss about? On Tuesday Oscar Nominations were announced & LaLa Land made history by being the most nominated film, me & my girlfriends were still puzzled but it will definitely be interesting to see.

This weekend me & the boyfriend are off to see the latest Mel Gibson film ‘Hacksaw Ridge,’ which was nominated for numerous awards & although looks pretty harrowing, leading actor Andrew Garfield has been nominated for Best Actor at the Oscar’s for his performance so I’m looking forward to seeing it. Also ‘Lion’ starring Dev Patel & Nicole Kidman which is meant to be a real emotional rollercoaster of a tale so you have been warned, tissues ready.

There is definitely a real mixed bunch of films out now to see, catch up on all the nominations here & see if any take your fancy this weekend.

I Want

In My Wardrobe…

Head’s up people a new trend alert & it’s going to be big for Spring/Summer, it’s Gingham!

If your like me & have been wanting to look past the sales that are still happening & the dark colours of Winter & looking forward to Spring/Summer & what new additions you can add to your wardrobe then you may have noticed that Gingham has worked it’s way into a lot of stores & it’s a trend that we are going to be seeing a lot more of.

Gingham isn’t a pattern I’m particularly fond of I think you have to be careful of how you incorporate in into your wardrobe, it’s a bold print so you need to wear it, don’t let it wear you & take over your outfit but I do love this Gingham Duster Coat by Topshop Boutique.

Wearing cigarette trousers/ skinny jeans a black polo neck or a crisp white shirt this coat is the perfect piece to finish it off. It’s a classic style & a duster coat is light enough to wear through Spring.  Teamed with the right outfit this coat will definitely have you on trend next season. AA x
