New On Netflix In April…
Okay so it’s that time again when we have a whole new reason for staying indoors, even with the sunshine making an appearance it’s sometimes too hard to resist curling up in your favourite spot on the couch & indulging in the latest episode in your box set or watching a new action adventure film, whatever it is you fancy watching then take your pick from April’s new releases on Netflix.
I already have a few programmes marked ready for me to watch & one at the top of my list is Girlboss, inspired by the New York Times best-selling book #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, founder of the American fashion brand Nasty Gal. The series centres on Amoruso (Britt Robertson), who began selling vintage clothes on eBay &, by the age of 28, had built the multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal.
Also, the Netflix Original Series 13 Reasons Why based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, t follows Clay Jensen as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate & crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them? Selena Gomez acted as producer on this show.
Yesterday the line-up for the 5-day iconic British music festival Glastonbury was announced.
The festival which is the pinnacle of British music culture is the biggest greenfield festival in the world & is believed that it is now attended by around 175,000 people each year. With numerous A-list celebrities dusting off their Hunter wellies, pulling on the denim shorts or floral mini dresses as they get ready to rock out in the mud.
Glastonbury 2017 will take place on 21st – 25th June, & following the release of his new album ÷, Ed Sheeran has been announced as the headlining act for this year’s festival, along with Radiohead, Foo Fighters & The xx. Joining them on the main stage will be Katy Perry, who is making a musical comeback although her appearance at the festival has caused a mix reaction but really are we shocked, every year there is always one artist whose appearance is disputed.
Glastonbury is also known for calling up the much loved ‘oldies’ for a comeback appearance, remember Dolly Parton & Lionel Richie’s performances? This year noughties artists; ‘It Wasn’t Me’ singer Shaggy will perform, along with Craig David who has been making his comeback over the past couple of years. I’ve never been to Glastonbury but everyone I know who has been absolutely loved it, so it’s definitely on the list to do.
In My Wardrobe…
If you saw my latest outfit post on the blog this week, ‘Day & Night With Kurt Geiger’ then you will have noticed that for my ‘Day’ look I am wearing an embroidered red Summer dress from Gap. I picked it up a few weeks ago, getting myself prepared for Summer & I just love wearing this colour in the sun plus the extra bonus that with the embroidered detail it’s on trend for SS17.
As I was so happy with this dress, my eyes were quickly drawn to this embroidered blouse from Next as it’s very similar but given that we don’t really get sun dress weather that often, I’ll more than likely get a lot more wear out of this blouse instead.
I love the extra detail too of the tassels, they are everywhere at the moment & it will definitely have you on trend for Summer having this blouse in your wardrobe. You can wear it at home with a khaki jacket, jeans & ankle boots for the ideal weekend look, on holiday or to a festival with some denim shorts. AA x
